WHEN REALITY LOOKS LIKE A DREAM

Psalms 126:1-3
When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

Have you ever dreamed and met yourself in great places? Have you ever slept and found yourself attaining great achievements in your dreams? Have you ever seen yourself in a honourable position and you were the object of celebration in your dreams?

When you woke up and discovered you were still on your bed, in your room, in the same condition you were before you went to slept, in the same sickness, in the same poverty, in the same pain, in the same thing you have been experiencing over the years; how did you feel? Oh! You felt bad. You felt not to have woken up from your dream world. You prefer your dream experience to the real occurrences around you.
Think about your imaginations which people call day dreaming. In your imaginations, you have found yourself in a situation you desperately desired. You saw yourself completed your education, started that business you loved, became a millionaire, married to your dreamed spouse and build a great home, raised wonderful children, became a philanthropist, and so on. But when you came back to your consciousness, you became sad. Why? Because your real situation is far from your imagination. Things are so bad that you prefer your imaginary life to the realities around you.
And because you have stayed long in this unpleasant condition, you have lost hope of a better life. You now feel it is your destiny for things to be as they are for you.

This was the experience of the people of God in their days in captivity. They were in slavery for 430 years in Egypt. They had no place to call home except their land of captivity. All hope was gone. Freedom was only possible in their imagination. They only experienced joy in their dreams. They woke up to servitude daily.

What are you presently going through? You desperately desire a change but it is not forthcoming. Their experience is a perfect description of what you are going through. Don't worry. God did something for His people and He will do the same thing for you.
God turned their captivity. God delivered them. God took them on a journey. God brought them to the land of plenty and freedom. God gave them peace.
When they got the miracles, the blessings, the peace, the promotion and God's presence, they thought they were still dreaming. They never knew it was a reality.
So when God turned their captivity, they felt it was a dream until unbelievers began to notice what had happened to them. Then they knew it was real.
God will do great and notable things in your life too.

But you need to notice the word 'Zion' in the above scripture. The Lord didn't turn the captivity of every individual. It was the captivity of Zion He turned. Israel was referred to as Zion because they were Zionists.
Note these about Zion:

Obadiah 1:17
But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.

There are three things to experience in Zion and they are in sequence. One must come before the other.

1. You come to Zion for deliverance.
To experience the blessings of Zion, you must first and foremost be deceived from sin. A sinner can't enjoy God's special blessing. You need to be freed from sin and Satan. This is where salvation becomes paramount. Don't expect a change if you are not born again.

2. You become holy and practice holiness in Zion.
Holiness is God's nature, character and way. Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord. When you become born again, this nature of God is imparted into you in potential. You need to practice it, live by it until holiness becomes your character and way of life. Holiness is a way God prepares His people to qualify them for redemption heritage.

3. Zion is a place of possessing your possessions.
The ultimate plan of God for you is to possess what He has for you in this world and in paradise. He wants to bless you here, help you to fulfill your dreams, and to give you an eternal place in His Kingdom.

Go to God. Go to Zion. Live by the kingdom principles. Join a bible believing church. Be a committed member of the body of Christ. Be reachable. Be prayerful. Serve God with everything in you.
The blessings of Zion will surely be at your disposal.

My prayer for you today: I pray that God will turn situations around for you and make your godly dreams come to fulfilment in Jesus name Amen.
The mighty hand of God will deliver you, transform you and bless you.

Scripture meditation for today - Psalms 14:7  Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Text: Matthew 18:18-19
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

We all understand the sovereignty of God. We know He rules over the universe. He is omnipotent. He is not limited in power. He dwells in the heaven of heavens. But it may surprise you to hear that the earth controls His operations. I'm not saying the earth controls Him, but it controls His activities.

A close look at the above bible reference reveals that the earth controls the heaven. What you bind on earth is what heaven will bind. What you loose on earth is what heaven will loose. What two of you agree on and ask is what heaven will do. Can you see how the earth determines what heaven does?

Yes, God has His wills and desires but His desires will not be accomplished until man give Him permission to do it. This is what we call prayer.
Jesus went to his home town to minister to them, but he couldn't do great things there. He wanted to do great miracles in his home town just as he was doing in other communities, but he couldn't. Did he loose his anointing? No. Then why couldn't he do great miracles there?
Mark 6:5-6
And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Though Jesus had power to perform great wonders, but the people determined the extent to which Jesus worked. Their faith level determined the power released from Jesus. See how James put it.
James 4:2  ........yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

It is not that God doesn't want you to have. In fact, He has provisions for you. But the reason why God is not releasing His provisions is because you are the one to determine it; and as long as you do not ask him to do it, God will do nothing.
Can you now see that the earth controls the heaven?

As a believer, you have the key to unlock the kingdom of God and to move heaven to performance. Heaven will release what the earth ask her to release. You have a responsibility to believe God for what He had already planned to do and to ask Him to do it.
If you do not command the heaven, heaven will not release what she has for you.

This is what prayer is all about. You need to understand this divine principle. God of heaven wants to work, but He won't work unless His people in the earth ask Him to work.
God wanted the people of Israel to win the battle. It was God Himself fighting for them. But their victory was determined by the position of Moses hand. When Moses hand was up, God's people would win. When Moses hand came down, the enemy won. God did the fighting, Moses determined where the victory went.

My prayer for you today:
May God open your eyes to understand your responsibility in bringing heaven to action in the earth so that God's desire for His people might come to pass in Jesus name Amen.

CONSPIRACY OF VISION TERMINATORS

Genesis 37:18-20
And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.
And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.
Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.

The above statement was made by Joseph's brothers against him. Look at what they said:

1. Behold, this dreamer cometh.
When he wasn't a dreamer, his life didn't attract criticism. For daring to dream, he was hated and conspired against. The reason why they nicknamed him a dreamer was because he had visions of what he would become.

Do you have visions for your life? Have you a dream to pursue? Is there anything meaningful and valuable you wish to become? If you answer in affirmation, then prepare for criticism. Critics will never see anything good coming out of you. They don't see possibility of achieving your destiny. The reason why they are criticizing you is because they are jealous of your dreams and because they don't have anything meaningful to pursue in their own lives. criticism is a sign that your dream is enviable. Don't allow critics to stop you with their mockery. Keep pushing in the direction of your life vision.

2. Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit.
They said, let's kill and bury him. They conspired to kill him and buried him. It wasn't because of him but because of his dreams. The reason for enemies conspiracy against your life is not about you, but about your aspirations, about your visions and about your dreams. You can't avoid it. Running away from it is running away from the path of fulfilment. They will try to talk you out of it. They will persuade you to drop it. They will belittle you and show you millions of reasons why they think it can't work.
God allows them in your life to test your beliefs in your dreams, your commitment to your vision and your consistency in your pursuit. Their presence in your life should drive you to God in prayer for the fulfilment of your dreams.

3. and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him:
Satan is not afraid of you telling the whole world his deeds and doings. He is the devouring beast. He moves around seeking whom he may devour. He always raise people against men and women of great potentials to devour them. Your critics are not your major enemies, Satan is. You know satan is a deceiver. He will want you to leave him and think that your brother is the real enemy. He is trying to stop you because of what lays ahead of you in future.
Don't be disturbed by what he is doing. Just keep praying to God. God is supervising every event that has to do with all His genuine children.

4. ...and we shall see what will become of his dreams.
The expectation of Joseph's brothers was to see his dreams dead. They were not interested about what will become of Joseph. Their major concern was his dreams. They wanted to terminate his visions.
For his dreams, they sold him to unknown strangers. Why did they choose unknown strangers? So that they won't know where to trace him in case anyone among them had a change of mind. The unknown strangers also sold him to a strange land. There, he became a slave. There he became an accused criminal for failing to do evil. There he became a prisoner. There, he was left, abandoned and forgotten in prison. All alone with his dreams and with his God.

Also in that strange land and in his strange conditions, strange things began to happen.
The king's dreams and the magician inability to interpret the dreams.
Joseph was remembered, invited, promoted and at the end, all his family came to him and bowed before him.

Glory to God! Joseph's dreams came to pass.
No one to be blamed.
Thank God for his brothers - the conspirators. Thank God for Portipher and his wife. Thank God for everyone who tried to terminate his dream. They were all helping in pushing him to where the fulfilment was awaiting him. Thank God for Joseph for staying with God and standing strong in his trying moments. Thank God for the Ultimate Supervisor - The Almighty God.

Beloved, learn from Joseph's life. Don't be discouraged. Don't be defeated. Don't yield to pressure. Your critics are your helpers. Let them do their job. Let their criticism fire you on. Let their discouraging comments about you propel you to move forward. Let their unbelief and faithlessness in you drive you to keep your trust and confidence in God.
Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep yourself pure. Keep holding on to Christ. Blame no one. You will get there.

My prayer for you today:
May God turn the conspiracy of your enemies to work in your favour in Jesus name Amen.

A CONTACT WITH THE ANCIENT ALTAR.

Text: Genesis 28:10-14
And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.
And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

Jacob was running away from home when his brother, Esau vowed to kill him after subtly taking his blessing. Isaac wanted to bless Esau, but Jacob deceived him to receive the blessings.
While running away, night fell and he needed to sleep on the road. He saw some stones, used them as pillow, he slept and had a great dream as described in the bible verses above.

Now what is the correlation between the stone and the dream? The stones Jacob used as pillow were the stones Abraham, his grand father, used to set up an altar unto God more than 120 years before that time.

And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him -Genesis 12:7 .

The altar Abraham built served as the registry or library of the generational covenant God entered with Him. The day Jacob had a contact with the ancient altar of his father's house, the covenant of the generation started to affect him.

How many times have you contacted the materials of the ancient altars of your generation? What kind of altars are they? What type of covenants were the altars raised to uphold? Were they built to God or to idols?
What about those sacred places in your community? Think about the shrines in your family yard. Don't forget the covens, grooves, and the ancient sacred places around you.
A contact with any of them is a contact with the dirties and the covenants they represent.

A contact with God's altar will release the blessings of the altar into your life. A contact with idol altar also releases curses.
You may need to pray seriously to free yourself from evil you might have inherited through your contact with evil altars.

My prayer for you today:
I pray that God will open your eyes to know the area where you need divine intervention to be freed from the influence of satanic altar, and also to set you free in Jesus name.

scripture meditation for today - Judges 6:25-26  And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:
And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.

GOD WILL BE TO YOU WHAT YOU ARE TO OTHERS.

Text: Psalms 18:24-26
Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

When you look closely at the above scriptural passage, you will discover that each individual is the determinant of how God will relate with him.
People pray asking God for mercy when them live a cruel life. Such people can not experience God as a merciful God.

It is like someone sowing seeds of mango and think he is going to reap orange there. It doesn't work that way. What you give is what you are going to get. If you bless people, God will bless you. If you are wicked, you will reap reward of wickedness. If you are stingy, then you can't receive from God. If you love, you will get love in return. If you make yourself a stumbling block on the way to success of someone, you will later meet someone at a crucial stage of your progress who will hinder you.
If you lift people up, you will find someone in life to lift you.
You can't be something to people and expect a different reward.
What you are to others is what the Lord will be to you.
The bible says in Galatians 6:7  'Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap'.
What kind of seed are you sowing? Please sow what you expect to reap. You determine what you will accomplish by what you do.
If you have been walking on the wrong path, you can still amend your way. Let people be blessed knowing you. Let people rejoice for meeting you. Let people be happy for having contact with you.
The irony of it is that you get more than what you offer. The rewards come in large volume. It is just a matter of time, it will surely come. Be wise and be blessed.

My prayer for you today:
I pray that God will give you the heart to do good so that people can appreciate God for knowing you. May God reward you in Jesus name Amen. As you go out today, you will experience God in a big way in Jesus name.

BEWARE OF UNAUTHORISED PROPHETS.

Text: Jeremiah 14:14

Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

We live in an era where everyone wants prophecy. It is good to know the mind of God on issues about your life and to hear from Him before taking major decisions. God also desires to communicate His mind, intentions and plans with His children. But there is need for you to be careful about where you receive the prophecy, the message of the prophecy and the vessel through which the prophecy comes.

In 1kings :13:1-32, we see how God spoke to one of His servants and gave him an assignment in a place with specific instructions. God told him to declare His word of judgement against an evil altar,  and that he should neither visit anybody nor eat anything while on that mission. He carried out the assignment as commissioned and was careful not to break the rules of engagement of that mission. But a 'Senior Prophet', who had no direct authority over him, came and told him that an 'angel' appeared to him to instruct this servant of God to come and eat bread in his house.
This young man of God abandoned the word of God to listen to an unknown and an unauthorised prophet who claimed to have heard from one angel. He died on that mission, and to make the matter worst, he was not only mocked by the prophet who deceived him, he was also buried by him.

Friend, you are not under obligation to obey every instruction given by a prophet or even by an 'angel'.  Prophecy is not my final authority, God's word is. No angel has authority over any Christian. The bible call them your servants. They are the ones to obey your instructions.

How could a prophet ask you to divorce your spouse and you swallow it up? How could a prophet ask you to pay money in order to receive prophecy and you don't query the source of that instruction? How could a prophet ask you to do something that directly contradicts the bible and you are running to carry it out?
A lot of people have been misled and destroyed by these satanic angels in white robes and false prophets.
They lie in wait to deceive. They are out to feed on the ignorant people who are all out seeking for prophecy. Why are people so undecerning? All I hear the prey cry are 'Prophesy papa', 'prophesy man of God'!
There are large number of unauthorised prophets out there. Be careful! Be watchful! Be warned! Be vigilant! Don't be deceived! The bible is a believer's final authority. You also have the Spirit of God residing in you.
I am not against prophetic ministry. I walk and work by it. I am a product of prophetic gift and declaration. I operate by it and God is using it to bless people around me. But I am against telling lies and deceiving people in the name of prophecy. I am against using people to satisfy your unholy desire. I am against bringing God into what your covetous mind is leading you to do.
Disobedience to an untested prophet and an unknown angel is not a disobedience to God. The bible declares fake angels cursed. By their fruits you shall know them.
May God deliver and bless you.

My prayer for you today:
May God open your eyes of understanding to know what is right and to do it at all times. May you not be deceived. May God deliver you from the clutches of fake prophets in Jesus name Amen.

Scripture meditation for today - Jeremiah 23:23-32
Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.

Your Dream and Its Reality

Text: Genesis 37:5-10
And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.
And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:
For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.
And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.
And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.
And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

Joseph had two dreams in quick succession. The first dream shows that his brothers were going to bow to him while the second one brought his parents into the picture. They too were going to bow down to him.
By interpretation, the dreams revealed that Joseph was going to become the leader of the family of Jacob. His parents and his siblings were going to be under him.
That was all the dreams revealed. That was all it meant to them. His brother reacted and queried him: 'Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us?'. His father also rebuked him and said: 'Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?'
All they saw was that Joseph was going to reign over the family and that led them to hate him and have deadly jealous of him.

The dream never revealed that Joseph was going to reign,  not only over villages, towns and cities, but also over nations and over powerful men. It was a small dream with a very big reality.

When God gives you a vision and dream, don't ever limit where it can take you to to what you saw. God will never reveal all His great plans for you at once.
However big your dream is, it is still far below what God has in stock for you.

Your ability to hold on to God and pursue His vision for your life, in the face of persecution, opposition and challenges, will guarantee the fulfilment of its great reality.  Don't cut corners, don't look for a short cut so that you won't be cut short along the way. Joseph could have slept with Portipher's wife and would have ended up becoming an enviable adulterer. May be he could have conspired with her to kill her husband and relocated to another community to start a new life with her and become the richest man in that small community. But he could also have lost the GREAT REALITY of his small dream.

Don't despise that small dream, vision or revelation God is showing to you. A big reality resides in it. Every big, blossoming and fruitful tree you see today was once residing in a tiny seed. That dream is a tiny seed. God has the capacity to make a forest from it. Every time you behold a seed, know that you are looking at a potential forest. Every time you behold your dream, know that you are looking at a great reality waiting to unfold. It is just a matter of time. Your small dream will become a great fulfilment.

My prayer for you today:
May you not disdain your dreams, may you not be myopic in understanding God's vision for your life, may you not throw away the great forest in your seed.
May you fulfill destiny in Jesus name Amen.

WHEN WILL YOU DISCOVER THEM?

Text: Ephesians 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

Many people suffer want of what belong to them. It is not because what is theirs are not available and accessible, but because they are ignorant of what is theirs.
Imagine someone holding a million dollars cheque drawn in his name and matured for cash and yet still suffer financial lack just because he doesn't know it belongs to him.

This is the condition of many Christians today. We go around looking and begging for what God had already given to us.
Is it because we don't read the bible with understanding or we fail to accept what the word of God says?

The bible reveals to us in Ephesians 3:1 that God had already blessed us with  all spiritual blessings that are available in Christ Jesus. It doesn't say God is going to bless us with them. It says He has already blessed us.
 All the blessings you need had already been released. Jesus came to enforce the promises of God. When Jesus shed his blood, died and rose from the dead, he completed the promise era. He brought in an era of fulfilment.

What exactly are you looking for? Is it healing, deliverance, progress, peace, joy? Whatever it is, God had already done and released them.

Look at what the word of God says:
1 Peter 2:24
 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

The bible says you WERE HEALED by Christ's stripes. Notice it is in the past tense. He didn't say He is going to heal you. He said he had healed you.
Many don't consumate this because they don't see it or they don't accept it to be the truth.
You can't break the scripture. The just shall live by faith. Don't just store the bible in your brain, let it be in your heart.

I am not denying the fact that forces of darkness are not resting but are at work to hinder you from enjoying what God has for you. Jesus had also taken care of them. Jesus defeated satan and his host for you. They overcame them by the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 12:11). Jesus blood was shed at Calvary to defeat satan for you. If they overcame him by Christ's blood in heaven, I also overcame him by that same blood here on earth. The blood of Jesus is available for us.

Believe God's word and live by it. Don't develop a wrong scripture and false theology for yourself. When it says you are blessed, it means you are blessed. When it says you have been healed, it means you have been healed. When it says you are an overcomer, it means you are an overcomer. What God's word says is what it means. Despise the symptoms and hold on to the word. It doesn't mean something different apart from what it says. It will happen as you believe. Nothing is impossible to him that believe.

When you do this, you will see miracles in and all around your life.

My prayer for you today:
As you lay hold on bible promises and claim your kingdom inheritance in prayer, may those bible promises become tangible miracles in your life in Jesus name Amen.
